Ben Sira Hummus, Jerusalem

Right next to the well known Sira Pub in the middle of the city you can find Ben Sira Hummus, Jerusalem. After a few good years of maintaining a minimalistic venue for a regular audience, the “place” recently trippled it’s size and now offers much more space and can consider itself a restaurant, rather than a ‘Hummus Place’.

Ben Sira is a 3 minutes walk from the Old City, and as such it is also similar to it in taste and genre. The flavour of lemon is stronger than in other Hummus places in the city, and the amount of olive oil is bigger in a regular dish.  Another great thing about this place is the fact they are open sometimes until the small hours, and after 1-3 Goldstar beers there is nothing like a dish of hummus as a munch.

Bottom line: Has a very good reputation, earned by right. When you are there, try the meat hummus, which is basically beef. It is one of the best in the area and a perfect combination. Your one and only problem after that would be climbing your steps back home.
