What is a Minsara ?

Minsara means “Carpentry Shop”. It received its name because of the black prismatic rocks which really do look like wood. The composition of the rocks is sea sand, melted and liquified during a volcanic eruption, which later cooled into these quartzite prisms. The best method to view the Minsara is by way of the wooden boardwalk, built to allow visits without damaging the site. There are boxes at the bottom of the site with touchable prisms.
